Rent-a-Trailcam

Rent-a-Trailcam is a rental service operated by Solar Security Services (Pty) Ltd. This Refund Policy explains how refunds, deposits, and related charges are handled.

1. Rental Fees (Non-Refundable)

Rental fees are non-refundable once the rental period has started or the equipment has been dispatched.

This applies to:

  • Weekend rentals

  • Weekly rentals

  • Fortnight rentals

  • Monthly rentals

Once the rental period begins, the rental fee is considered earned.

2. Security Deposit (Refundable)

A refundable security deposit is required for all trail camera rentals.

Deposit Refund Process

  • Deposits are refunded within 3 working days after:

    • The equipment has been returned, and

    • The equipment has passed inspection

  • Refunds are processed to the original payment method used at checkout (via Peach Payments)

Refund Timeframe

  • Refunds typically reflect within 2–5 working days, depending on your bank.

3. Deductions from Deposit

Rent-a-Trailcam reserves the right to partially or fully deduct from the security deposit in the event of:

  • Physical damage to the camera or accessories

  • Missing items (camera, mounting hardware, cables, solar panel, SD card)

  • Water damage or tampering

  • Late return beyond the agreed rental period

  • Loss or theft of equipment

Where deductions apply:

  • A breakdown of charges will be provided

  • Any remaining balance will be refunded

4. Courier Fees (Non-Refundable)

Courier fees cover delivery and return collection and are non-refundable, including:

  • Early returns

  • Cancellations after dispatch

  • Failed deliveries due to incorrect address or unavailable recipient

Additional courier costs caused by failed delivery or incorrect information may be deducted from the security deposit.

5. Cancellations

Before Dispatch

If an order is cancelled before dispatch:

  • Rental fees may be refunded at the discretion of Rent-a-Trailcam

  • Courier fees may still apply if logistics have already been arranged

After Dispatch

Once equipment has been dispatched:

  • Rental fees are non-refundable

  • Courier fees are non-refundable

  • The security deposit remains refundable subject to inspection

6. Card Processing Fees

Card processing fees charged by the payment gateway are non-refundable. These fees are absorbed as part of normal transaction costs.

7. Billing & Payment Processing Disclosure

Rent-a-Trailcam is a trading brand operated by Solar Security Services (Pty) Ltd.

All payments, deposits, and refunds are processed through Solar Security Services (Pty) Ltd and may appear on your bank or card statement under this company name.

8. Disputes & Chargebacks

Customers are encouraged to contact Rent-a-Trailcam directly regarding any refund queries.

Unauthorised chargebacks may result in:

  • Retention of the security deposit pending investigation

  • Suspension of future rental privileges
